Great sexy trash with 2 of Europe’s sexiest actresses! Nice picture on this one! Heavily recommended!

Arabella - The Black Angel (Arabella l'angelo nero, 1987) UNCUT COMPOSITE EDIT ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Stelvio Massi, Italy Here is a soft looking but watchable composite of one of the sleazier giallo films from the '80s! Tinì Cansino is a buxom nymphomaniac (the best kind!) who's passion turns to psychotic murder!

With Uschi Glas, it's a low-budget but high-fun ape-poundin' crime drama based on a story by Edgar Wallace with a swingin' score by Peter Thomas! One by one they begin turning up dead! A strange and violent film, almost like a giallo as if produced by Andy Warhol! From the director of "Redneck", "Georgy Girl" and "Die! Die! My Darling!".

Body Count (Camping del Terrore, 1986) UNCUT VERSION ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH JAPANESE SUBTITLES Directed by Ruggero Deodato, Italy Mimsy Farmer and "Last House On The Left"'s David Hess star with Charles Napier. I had read quite a bit of praise on this Italian slasher movie patterned after the "Friday The 13th" films but have to say I was a bit let down. I mean it certainly wasn't any worse then some of that series, but Deodato (director of the notorious "Cannibal Holocaust" and the infinitely better "House By The Edge Of The Park") seemed too stuck on using the American film as a blueprint. Definitely worth a look (but don't get your hopes up!) and this is the uncut version.

Carpet of Horror (Der Teppich des Grauens, 1962) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Harald Reinl, West Germany / Italy / Spain A mad killer terrorizes London using small poison gas balls to murder his victims! Starring Joachim Fuchsberger, Karin Dor and Werner Peters. For fans of black & white German mystery films! Next year the exciting sequel was released called "The Bathmat of Doom". (not really.)

Col Cuore in Gola (With Heart In Mouth aka Deadly Sweet, 1967) WIDE SCREEN PICTURE IN ITALIAN LANGUAGE WITH NO SUBTITLES Directed by Tinto Brass, Italy / France Before he became established as a director of erotic cinema, Tinto Brass made this pop art murder thriller. Jean-Louis Trintignant plays a man who finds Ewa Aulin in the office of a nightclub standing next to the murdered body of the club's owner! The rest of the film is spent with the couple running around London fending for their lives while looking for the real killer. The style is the thing here Brass hurls a barrage of pop art images and references at us with a manic editing pace that some will love and others will be annoyed by. For me personally I eat this stuff up. For instance, in one scene Trintignant is cornered by 2 gun-wielding thugs next to an Alfred E. Newman poster. He looks back at it and then says to the men (in broken English), "What, me worry?". When they smash him the screen explodes with Batman-like "POW!" and "WHAM!" graphics! There are direct references to "Blow-Up" and other movies. In Italian language only but easy to follow.

Corruption of Chris Miller (1972) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH GREEK SUBTITLES Directed by Juan Antonio Bardem, Spain Chris Miller (well portrayed by the gorgeous Marisol) is a disturbed young girl living on a lavish estate with stepmom Jean Seberg. In town an older retired actress is brutally stabbed by someone she knows! One day a drifter (Barry Stokes) shows up and takes a liking to the daughter. The rebellious young man senses that something is horribly wrong in the household.... A gripping and quite underrated film!

Crazy Desires of a Murderer (I Vizi morbosi di una governante, 1977) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE IN ITALIAN LANGUAGE WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES Directed by Filipo Ratti, Italy Returning home from abroad, a young woman invites over a group of friends unaware that 2 of them have smuggled drugs into the country. Suddenly people begin getting killed and their eyeballs are removed! An obscure film. Picture looks a bit dark, but okay overall.

Crimes Of The Black Cat (Sette scialli di seta gialla, 1972) IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH SPANISH SUBTITLES Directed by Sergio Pastore, Italy An affair sparks a killing spree as fashion models are being murdered by a poisoned cat’s claw! Blind soundtrack composer Anthony Steffen (Antonio De Teffè) becomes obsessed with finding the assassin. There’s one particularly shocking and graphic murder in this well made thriller! To date this seems to be the most uncut version available. With Sylva Koscina and Jeanette Len (Giovanna Lenzi).

Dangerous Women (Una Donna senza nome, 1989) IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH JAPANESE SUBTITLES Directed by Luigi Russo, Italy A wheelchair bound woman's (Lisbeth Hummel) life is at stake as her maid and chauffeur plot her murder in order to gain an inheritance. I'm not sure what it was about this thriller but it just didn't quite do it for me. Recommended for completists only.

Muller" (Edoardo Mulargia), Italy Slightly uneven but ultimately effective Giallo thriller set in Haiti. There are some grisly murders centered around the discovery of a new drug, a great sexual nightmare sequence, and some very authentic looking "mondo"-style voodoo rituals! Starring Anita Strindberg, Anthony Steffen (Antonio De Teffè) and Gabriele Tinti.

Death Knocks Twice (Blonde Köder für den Mörder, 1970) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Harald Phillips (Harald Philipp) A woman is killed on a beach and her necklace is stolen in what seems like an isolated crime incident. But when a detective (Dean Reed) is brought onto the scene he uncovers a deeper plot involving members of the underworld! With Fabio Testi, Ini Assmann, Leon Askin and Hélène Chanel, also with Femi Benussi and Anita Ekberg in smaller roles!

Death Laid An Egg (aka Plucked aka A Curious Way To Love, 1968) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Giulio Questi, Italy Jean-Louis Trintignant owns a modern chicken farm. His wife (Gina Lollobrigida) expects him of having an affair (with "Candy" star Ewa Aulin!) and discovers the possibility that he's the psychotic killer of prostitutes! An almost Godard-like film about infidelity, murder, and living headless chickens! Truly in a class by itself, you will either be fascinated by this film (I was!) or you will find it irritating! Death Steps in the Dark (Passi di morte perduti nel buio, 1972) IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH DUTCH SUBTITLES SLIGHTLY WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE Directed by Maurizio Pradeaux, Italy After a young woman is murdered on a train, the witnesses themselves start getting bumped off! A bit heavy on the comic relief at times, which is strange considering how violent and bloody the killings are! Nice Riz Orolani score helps set the mood. Still, I dug it and thought it was somewhat underrated! But what do I know!?

Devil With 7 Faces (1971) ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH GREEK SUBTITLES Directed by Osvaldo Civriani, Italy Julie (Carroll Baker) is being harassed by a group of thugs looking for a rare diamond supposedly stolen by her twin sister! A bit slow at times but builds to an intense conclusion! With George Hilton and Lucretia Love.

Diabolically Yours (Diaboliquement vôtre,1967) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Julian Duvivier, France / Italy / West Germany Alain Delon wakes up from a bad car accident with a sever case of amnesia! He is told that he is a wealthy man living in a big mansion and is married to sexy Senta Berger! As he tries to recuperate and attempts to regain his memory he begins to get paranoid that all is not what it seems to be! Decent thriller with Berger looking her hottest in an array of sexy 60's clothes!

The Double (La Controfigura, 1971) ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH GREEK SUBTITLES WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE Directed by Romolo Guerrieri, Italy Frank (Jean Sorel) is gunned down in a parking garage. As he lay dying he remembers back to the events that lead up to him being here... It seems Frank was on a beach vacation with his girlfriend Eva ("Candy" star Ewa Aulin) when things start to go wrong. First she seems to become interested in a beach traveler named Roger, and Frank, just not sure how interested she is, becomes jealous. Then Eva's hot looking mother Nora (Lucia Bosé who played Countess Bathory in Legend of Blood Castle!) happens to show up. Frank has one wild romp with Nora who then blows him off (figuratively speaking). But it's not enough for Frank so he follows Nora to her home in Rome. He continues trying to see her and one day spots her in town with the same guy they met on the beach! Eventually he goes over to Nora's place only to find the man murdered! Thinking that Nora is the killer, he gets rid of the body to protect her, but it turns out that Nora was out of town at the time of the killing and had nothing to do with it! A really decent giallo! Recommended!

A Dragonfly For Each Corpse (1973) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Leon Klimovsky, Spain Various members of the underworld are being killed and at each murder scene a dragonfly is left on the victim's body! (Hence the title!) A hard to find giallo starring Paul Naschy and Erika Blanc with Ángel Aranda, María Kosti, Ricardo Merino and Susana Mayo.

Her rich and older husband is wise to the deception and sets up a plan to do everyone in: With an automated security system he traps the cheating couple inside the bedroom of his large house and then kills himself! With only a day or so before the air runs out, we learn in flashback how they all came to be in that situation. With Curd Jürgens, Juan Luis Galiardo and Emma Cohen as Alexa's stepdaughter. In Italian language only but fairly easy to follow. A must for Rosalba Neri fans! The groovy score by Pierro Piccioni has been featured on several Italian pop soundtrack compilations. Note: Opening credits contain 1 brief glitch but the rest looks very good.

The Embalmer (Il Mostro di Venezia, 1066) ENGLISH LANGUAGE SLIGHTLY WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE Directed by Dino Tavella, Italy A maniacal murderer comes out of the water in a diving suit and drags his victims to a watery grave below in this early entry black & white Italian killer thriller! DVD-R includes the original theatrical trailer!

La Encadenada (aka Diary Of An Erotic Murderess, 1973) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Manuel Mur Oti, Spain / Italy Marissa Mell is hired to care for an emotionally disturbed young man who lives with his rich father in a big mansion. It turns out that Miss Mell is really out to rip them off, however the family itself is hiding its own dark secret!

The Etruscan Kills Again (L'Etrusco uccide ancora aka The Dead Are Alive, 1971) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Armando Crispino, Italy A decent film from the director of "Autopsy" which! An archeological dig opens up a mysterious string of murders. Samantha Eggar and Alex Cord star with Horst Frank. Underrated to be sure!

Exorcisme Tragique (Un bianco vesito per Mariale aka Spirits Of Death, 1972) IN FRENCH LANGUAGE WITH NO SUBTITLES WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE Directed by Romano Scavolini, Italy As a child Mariale (Evelyn Stewert) witnesses her father shoot her mother and her mother's lover! Now grown up and living with her wealthy husband (Luigi Pistilli), the couple invite friends over for a wild LSD party. Soon the guests begin getting bumped off! A moody and somewhat psychedelic thriller that I enjoyed despite the lack of English. With Ivan Rassimov and an incredible score by Fiorenzo Carpi, from the director of "Nightmare".

The Eye in the Labyrinth (aka Blood, 1971) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH FINNISH SUBTITLES Directed by Mario Caiano, Italy A sometimes hallucinatory thriller about a pretty girl tracing her missing boyfriend to a group of swingers on an island. Starring Adolfo Celi, Rosemary Dexter, Horst Frank, and Alida Valli. Recommended!

Fear (original title: L'Ossessione che uccide / "Murder Obsession" aka The Wailing, 1980) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Riccardo Freda, Italy Totally out-of-control murder thriller with supernatural overtones! Opening with the making of a film-within-the-film, an actor playing a murderer (Stefano Patrizi) gets a little overzealous and almost strangles his co-star (Laura Gemser). He decides to take a break and invites his blonde fiancee (Martine Brochard) and some of the cast to visit his family's gothic estate where his ailing mother lives. Played by genre fave Anita Strindberg, his mother seems to have an almost incestual connection to him and soon tells him that, as a child, he was responsible for knifing his own father to death! Meanwhile, his fiancé begins having nightmares about wandering through the house and ending up in cavelike rooms where Satanic cult sacrifices, giant spiders and other horrific sights exist! As if this wasn't enough, somebody begins to brutally murder the guests... This film, Freda's last, is largely ignored by most and I'm not sure why! Made in 1980 but with the dreamlike abandon of an early 70's film, this one delivers! One of the last visually "horror-delic" Italian thrillers made, Freda doesn't skimp on the blood and nudity! Admittedly the dreamlike incoherency of the story doesn't always make the most sense but the eerie goings-on effectively create a nightmarish mood and isn't that what horror movies are supposed to do anyways? This version is also the longest one I've seen.

Feast of the Devil (Las Amantes del diablo aka I Diabolici Convegni aka Feast of Satan, 1971) FULL-FRAME "UN-MATTED" VERSION ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Joseph De Lacy, Italy, Spain A woman travels to a small village to search for her missing sister. Unbeknownst to her, there are evil goings-on the likes of which she has no idea! A good cast featuring Krista Nell, Ennio Girolami and Teresa Gimpera. The import DVD release of this is a matted fake wide-screen picture, our release is un-matted and full-frame until the very last scene.

Folds of the Flesh (aka In The Folds of The Flesh, 1970) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Sergio Bergonzelli, Italy While fleeing from the police, an escaped prisoner witnesses an attractive woman disposing of the body of a man she may have just murdered. Years later, upon getting out of jail, the guy goes back to the mansion to blackmail the woman and her seemingly incestuous and very "far-out" son and daughter. An intentionally disjointed wild ride from director Bergonzelli that plays like a bad trip and keeps you surprised until the very end! Recommended!

Four Flies on Grey Velvet (1972) UNCUT & WIDE-SCREEN COMPOSITE EDIT ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Dario Argento, Italy A drummer in an rock band (Michael Brandon) is being spied upon by a strange man during a recording session. Afterwards he follows the man into an empty theater and, upon questioning him, gets into a heated scuffle whereupon he accidentally stabs the guy! Meanwhile someone in a strange child's mask (that somewhat resembles Devo's "Boogie Boy" mask!) is up in the theater balcony snapping pictures of the incident! As the man tries to investigate why this has happened people around him begin to get murdered! Mimsy Farmer co-stars as the poor guy's wife in one of Gialli maestro Argento's harder to find films! The DVD-R includes 2 original theatrical trailers!

The Fourth Victim (La Última señora Anderson aka Death At The Deep End Of The Swimming Pool, 1971) ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH GREEK SUBTITLES Directed by Eugenio Martin, Italy / Spain Arthur, a wealthy Englishman, finds his third wife dead in their swimming pool. After the police discover that both of his first 2 wives had also died suddenly, an investigation is lead. Meanwhile, a new neighbor, Julie (Carroll Baker), moves in and seems to become very interested in Arthur. However, since this is a giallo, all is not what it seems to be of course!

Girl in Room 2A (La Casa della Paura, 1977) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by William L. Rose (Ramiro Oliveros?), Italy A halfway house for ex-prisoners is in reality run by a group that executes the unsuspecting women as a gift to society! Pretty standard and suggested for Rosalba Neri completists only! ) Daniela Giordano and Raf Vallone star, also with Karin Schubert.

The Glass Ceiling (1971) ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH DUTCH SUBTITLES Directed by Eloy De La Iglesia, Spain A woman living in an apartment complex begins to imagine that her upstairs neighbor is involved in a murderous affair! An obscure paranoia thriller starring Carmen Sevilla, Dean Selmier, Patty Sheppard and Emma Cohen, from the director of "Murder In A Blue World" and "Cannibal Man"! Like those films, this one has the same bleak rural atmosphere.

The House of the Yellow Carpet (1982) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Carlo Lizzani, Italy Untypical Giallo set mostly in an apartment where a young couple live. After placing a classified ad to sell an antique Persian rug, an odd man shows up and attacks the woman while she is alone. In defending herself the strange man is killed! But before help arrives the body seems to vanish! Many twists and turns in this unpredictable thriller! With Béatrice Romand and Vittorio Mezzo as the couple and featuring prolific actress Milena Vukotic who's been in a zillion Italian movies by now (such including Fellini's "Juliet of the Spirits" and "Andy Warhol's Dracula").

They finance their trip by selling illegal nude photos of Muti! After getting into a bit of legal trouble and having their car breakdown, they end up at the house of a woman (Irene Papas) who, unbeknownst to them, has just killed her husband! The woman looks at their arrival as an opportunity and plans on trying to pin it on the couple!

In The Heat of the Flame (Calor de la llama, 1976) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Rafael Romero Marchent-SPAIN-Gabriella (Elli Maclure) is married to a much older man. The couple seems happy but there is something lacking in her life. Meanwhile a hooded homicidal rapist is attacking women in a mountain area. One day Gabriella is attacked in the woods. Her boyfriend has disappeared and people around her begin getting murdered! An ok giallo with a few nude scenes from the lovely miss Hills. With Silvia Solar and Orchidea de Santis. Note: there is a 5 minute sequence in the middle of the film where the picture jumps due to master tape damage. Rated R

Knife Of Ice (Il Coltello di Ghiaccio, 1972) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Umberto Lenzi, Italy Carroll Baker plays an attractive mute girl. After returning home to visit their sick father, her sister (played by Evelyn Stewert) is murdered. At first the killings seem to be connected to a Satanic cult, but as this is a giallo you can pretty much figure that there’s another explanation!

Love Angels (Prostituzione aka Red Light Girls, 1974) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Rino Di Silvestro, Italy Pretty decent exploitation from the director of "Werewolf Woman". Like that film, this one sorta' drifts all over the place in the directors' "train-of-thought" style of storytelling, from sleazy sex to murder to chase scenes and, while somewhat disjointed, still makes for an interesting ride. With Maria Fiore, Krista Nell, Lucretia Love, Orchidea de Santis, Magda Konopka and others.

Love Me Strangely (Un beau monstre, 1969) Directed by Sergio Gobbi, France? Helmut Berger drives his wife to suicide. Is it an isolated incident or is he a sicko? Obscure thriller with Virna Lisi.

The Murder Mansion (Mansión de la Niebla, 1972) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Francisco Lara Polop (and Pedro Lazaga), Italy / Spain Effectively creepy throwback to the haunted house film and Italian gothic cinema of the early 60's. A young couple on a motorcycle become lost in the fog where they encounter a frightened woman. Their story takes them to a cemetery and a big mansion where ghostly things are beginning to happen! Or are they? Great lighting and camera work raise this one above others. I swear this movie had one shot that made me jump outta' my freakin' skin! Starring Andrew Reese, Analía Gadé, and Evelyn Stewert (Ida Galli).

A women keeps having mental visions of a horrible murder. Can she figure out what the dreams mean in time to catch the culprit? Decent thriller that looks much better in widescreen! Mystere (aka Murder Near Perfect, 1983) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Carlo Vanzina, Italy A man accidentally photographs a political assassination in Rome. He is murdered and the negative, hidden in a cigarette lighter, ends up in the hands of a prostitute who is also killed! The lighter somehow makes it to sultry callgirl Mystere (Carol Bouquet) who is now being stalked by the killer! A decent 80's giallo with John Steiner, Janet Agren and Gabrielle Tinti. Naked Girl Killed In Park (1972) ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH DUTCH SUBTITLES Directed by Alfonso Brescia, Italy An old man is found murdered on an amusement park haunted house ride. After finding out that the guy had recently been insured for 1 million dollars that morning, the insurance agents send an undercover detective to check out the old man’s family. The detective, effectively portrayed by suave Robert Hoffman, becomes involved with the man’s daughters! With Teresa Gimpera, Pilar Velázquez and Irina Demick.

Night Caller (Ping an ye, 1985) IN CANTONESE LANGUAGE WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES Directed by Philip Chan, Hong Kong JUST ADDED! Stylish & effective murder thriller that looks like an Italian “giallo”! A young girl’s mother is stalked and knifed in front of her! The trauma leaves her unable to speak so it’s up to a hard boiled detective to find the killer. Despite the lack of blatant nudity and typical Chinese humor elements, this slick looking film has an effectively sleazy undertone to it! Recommended!

Nightmare (aka Nightmares in a Damaged Brain, 1981) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Romano Scavolini-USA-Italian director Scavolini delivers the sleazy goods in this notorious bloody slasher film! Baird Stafford is ultra-creepy as a man who is released from an asylum. Naturally he is anything but "sane" and goes on a killing spree after visiting a few Times Square live sex shows. (Ah, the good ol' days of NYC.... but I digress.) The film becomes ridiculously gory and wait'll you find out how the poor sap got this way! DVD-R includes the original theatrical trailer!

Obsession - A Taste For Fear (Pathos - segreta inquietudine, 1988) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Piccio Raffanini, Italy Manic editing and a lot of bare skin set in the near future. Beautiful models are being killed in this fast-paced thriller starring Virginia Hey. And look for Eva Grimaldi and Kid Creole!

Paranoia (Italian title: Orgasmo, 1969) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Umberto Lenzi, Italy / France The first (and best) of a series of thrillers Lenzi made starring Carroll Baker. Not to be confused with “A Quiet Place To Kill” (which was also titled “Paranoia” in some places!), this film tells the story of a newly widowed millionaire (Baker) who allows a not-so-innocent vagabond and his cute sister to stay at her mansion. The jet-set wannabees slowly begin to dominate her until she starts to suspect that they may have a dangerous ulterior motive! A great movie and pretty wild but still hard to believe this was rated “X” when it came out! With Lou Castel and Colette Descombes. DVD-R includes the original theatrical trailer!

Perversion Story (Las Trompetas del apocalipsis aka I Caldi amori di una minorenne, 1969) SLIGHTLY WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Julio Buchs, Spain / Italy After his sister kills herself, a man delves into the swinging mod scene to find out why. It seems the only clue is a small piece of classical music that is heard right before she threw herself out of a window! A fun thriller with a misleading title (there's not much perversion going on) and a hilarious misrepresentation of the London club scene. (The dj uses one turntable and when the record's done the kids all stop dancing and stand still and patiently wait for him to flip it over! Am I the only one that thinks this is funny??) Starring Marilu Tolo and Brett Halsey, with Romina Power. (Not to be confused with Lucio Fulci's "One On Top Of The Other" which was also released around the same time as "Perversion Story"!)

Primal Impulse (Le Orme aka Footprints On The Moon, 1974) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Luigi Bazzoni (and Mario Fanelli), Italy Florinda Bolkan investigates strange disappearances in connection with some strange dreams she keeps having concerning an astronaut being deliberately stranded on the moon! A stylish looking but low-key science fiction / mystery. With Klaus Kinski and Evelyn Stewert (Ida Galli).

Psychout For Murder (Salvare la faccia, 1969) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by "Edward Ross" (Rossano Brazzi) with additional footage by Ted Neeland-ARGENTINA / ITALY-Licia (Adrienne LaRussa, star of Lucio Fulci's "Beatrice Cenci"), the daughter of a rich politician, was sent to an insane asylum to avoid a political family scandal. Upon her return home, she sets about to get her revenge on her father and sister for putting her through the months of hell that may have now actually turned her into a legitimate psychopath! Sultry LaRussa steals the show as Licia, prick-teasing her sister's husband to death and turning the tables on everyone. With director Brazzi as "Daddy", Paola Pitagora as her jealous sister and "Camille 2000" star Nino Castelnuovo as her blackmailing boyfriend! An offbeat and obscure thriller! Recommended!

A Quiet Place To Kill (aka Paranoia, 1970) UNCUT VERSION! WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Umbrto Lenzi, Italy Carroll Baker gets involved in a murder plot to kill her ex-husband (Jean Sorel). His current wife is in on it with her until the day they try to pull it off and things go slightly different then they had planned. A decent film and not quite as wild as Lenzi's thriller from the year before (also called Paranoia aka “Orgasmo” which also starred Baker) or his similarly titled film from '71 called Ideal Place To Kill, this one is more plot-oriented but effective nonetheless. I swear that there's one scene on a boat that seems to have inspired a scene in the 1998 film "Wild Things"!

Red Rings of Fear (Enigma rosso aka Trauma, 1978) UNCUT VERSION ENGLISH LANGUAGE with dutch subtitles Directed by Alberto Negrin, Italy Another underrated thriller with a storyline that possibly may have inspired “Twin Peaks”! A dead teenage girl is found floating in a ravine. Having been brutally murdered with a sharp phallic instrument, the assigned inspector (played by Fabio Testi) investigates her female schoolmates and eventually uncovers a teenage prostitution ring. With Christine Kaufman, Jack Taylor and, in a small role, Helga Liné. Released in a cut version on US video as "Trauma", this is the uncut version! DVD-R includes the original theatrical trailer!

Reflections In Black (Il Vizio ha le calze nere aka Vice Wears Black Hose, 1972 ) ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH GREEK SUBTITLES Directed by Tano Cimarosa, Italy A "woman in black" is slashing the throats of Dagmar Lassander's lesbian lovers! Not as bad as I thought it would be, this version, although containing nudity, seems like it may be cut.

The Scorpion With 2 Tails (aka Murders In The Etruscan Cemetery, 1982)

Made for t.v. supernatural thriller with John Saxon, Elvire Audray and Paolo Malco. Apparently this was cut down from a mini series that hopefully was better in its complete form.

The Secret of Seagull Island (L'Isola del gabbiano, 1980) ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH GREEK SUBTITLES Directed by Nestore Ungaro, Italy Barbara Carey plays a woman who, while on a trip to Rome, learns that her sister is one of several blind girls who has turned up murdered recently! Following a lead to an island where an unusual family lives, she pretends to be blind in order to track down the culprit. Despite a bit of nudity and blood, this one does play a bit like a t.v. movie, albeit a decent one that gets pretty intense at times!

7 Cadavers For Scotland Yard (aka Seven Murders For Scotland Yard aka Jack The Ripper Of London, 1971) IN ITALIAN LANGUAGE WITH NO SUBTITLES Directed by José Luis Madrid, Spain / Italy A "Jack The Ripper"-like killer is murdering prostitutes and Paul Naschy is the prime suspect! Decent thriller that doesn't skimp on the blood and skin. Note: The picture quality on this is fairly soft looking therefore I can only recommend this to completists.

He suggests the idea to Milian that each of them murders off the other's "problem" but he refuses to do it. The count, ever persistent, comes up with a plan that will blackmail Milian into doing what he wants! With Katia Christine, Luigi Casellato and Marisa Bartoli.

So Sweet, So Dead (Rivelazioni di un maniaco sessuale al capo della squadra mobile aka The Slasher Is The Sex Maniac, 1973) UNCUT VERSION WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH GREEK SUBTITLES Directed by Roberto Montero, Italy With Sylvia Koscina & Farley Granger. Ssssleazy story about a psycho killer who spends his time "punishing" cheating wives! Some of the naughty ladies include Femi Benussi, Krista Nell and Susan Scott (Nieves Navarro). This is the longer uncut wide-screen version of this sexy slasher!

So Sweet, So Perverse (1969) ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH GREEK SUBTITLES Directed by Umberto Lenzi Jean-Louis Trintignant and wife Erika Blanc's marriage has hit the skids; Blanc is cold as ice while Trintignant seeks the female companionship of his friend's wife (Helga Liné). A distraught blonde (Carroll Baker) moves into the apartment upstairs from them. They begin an affair that pulls the man into a trap of murder and lies! Another solid thriller from Lenzi! One of his best!

The Sweet Body of Deborah (1967) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Romolo Guerrieri, Italy Carroll Baker in one of her best roles is a recently married American woman who, upon moving to the her new husband’s home in Italy, learns that he may’ve been responsible for contributing to the suicide of a local girl, his ex-girlfriend (played by Evelyn Stewert aka Ida Galli)! With Jean Sorel and George Hilton. A must for Baker fans!

To Kill A Stranger (1983)

I was surprised to find this one from the director of "Alucarda", "Dr. Tarr's Torture Dungeon" and "Mary, Mary, Bloody Mary" (all available in our "Horror" section) as I had thought those were his only 3 films. Not so! This obscure murder thriller seems to be his 4th and last film. A pretty pop singer (believably portrayed by popular Mexican film and t.v. star Angelica Maria in one of her only English roles) is traveling across a Latin country to meet her news reporter husband (Dean Stockwell). Her car brakes down during a storm and she has the unfortunate luck of being picked up by Donald Pleasance, a rich local retired army man / war hero. Seemingly helpful at first, he turns out to be a homicidal rapist and, while defending herself, she ends up killing him! In a panic she hides the body in a well but must now deal with the police and iron-fisted local army officers who are trying to discover the whereabouts of this missing "hero"! Although competently made, this is probably Moctezuma's most mainstream film mainly due to it's lack of grue and the gawdawful performance by Aldo Ray as a police detective. The rest of the cast is very good but it's Pleasance who steals the show (naturally!) and as such the film really only kicks in during his scenes. Look for Mad Magazine cartoonist Sergio Aragones as the controlling army general!

Too Beautiful To Die (aka Nothing Underneath 2, 1988) UNCUT VERSION WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH JAPANESE SUBTITLES Directed by Dario Piana, Italy After a model is raped at a wild party, her coworkers begin getting brutally slain! Decent entry in the 80's fashion model murder thriller sub-genre. (Or is that sub-sub-genre?) Similar but not actually a sequel to the superior Nothing Underneath. This full-frame version contains more picture information than the cropped "wide-screen" tape from Japan. DVD-R contains the original theatrical trailer!

Tormentor (Passi di danza su una lama di rasoio aka Death Carries A Cane, 1973) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Maurizio Pradeaux, Italy Bottom-of-the-shelf thriller for after you’ve seen all the others. Robert Hoffman and Susan Scott (Nieves Navarro) star in the story of a woman who witnesses a murder through vending binoculars. Hell, I still liked it! This full-frame version has a much nicer picture than the crappy looking import DVD.

The Washing Machine (1993) WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Ruggero Deodato, Italy Slick thriller from Mr. “Cannibal Holocaust” himself doesn’t skimp on the t&a! A detective investigates 3 attractive sisters in connection with a pimp friend of theirs who turns up dead! Lively an’ sleazy the way they should be, this is definitely one of Deodato's best!

The Weekend Murders (Concerto per pistola solista, 1970) ENGLISH LANGUAGE Directed by Michele Lupo, Italy Agatha Christie inspired film laced with a good amount of black humor! Typical Christie-esque plot has rich family members at the reading of a will spending the night in a mansion when people begin getting bumped off etc., etc.. But there's no hiding that this is an Italian film! The editing, quick zooms and amazing score (extremely effective use of Tchaikovsky music everytime a dead body is discovered) lend a ghoulishly comic mood to the grim goings on, combine that with the nudity and this one has dipped into the Euro-trash zone! The lively cast includes Anna Moffo, Eveline Stewart (aka Ida Galli), Gastone Moschin, Peter Baldwin, Giacomo Rossi-Stuart, Marisa Fabbri, Beryl Cunningham and Orchidea de Santis. Recommended!

Without Apparent Motive (Sans mobile apparent, 1971) SLIGHTLY WIDE-SCREEN PICTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH GREEK SUBTITLES Directed by Philippe Labro, France / Italy Jean-Louis Trintignant plays a police detective who is trying to solve a string of murders committed with a long distance rifle. The murderer is also using a silencer which ads to the tension. At any moment in broad daylight a new victim could drop! What is the connection between these killings? Are they the work of some psychotic murderer killing at random or is there a specific motive? A well crafted mystery thriller! With Dominique Sanda, Sacha Distel, Carla Gravina, Paul Crauchet and Laura Antonelli. Note: There are some glitches here and there due to source tape damage but still quite watchable.
